Women’s Basketball vs. Cornerstone. W 74-49.

The Saints blew past Cornerstone 74-49, in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal. April Watson led the team with 30 points, 20 rebounds and three blocks. Jaaliyah Arrington contributed 13 points. Azalea Miller added 10 points while leading SHU with four assists. Leading the Saints with three steals was Ashley Perry.

February 23

Men’s Basketball @ Cornerstone. L 70-74.

The Saints almost pulled off a win, but fell 70-74 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal to Cornerstone. Leading the Saints with 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists was Chris Pearl. Nick Randle added 12 points for SHU. Dropping 11 points apiece for the Saints was Josh Winowiecki and Tony Jackson. Erik Johnson came off the bench to lead SHU with two blocks.

February 25

Women’s Bowling @ AHIBC Championships.

The Saints bowled five baker games with a total pin-fall of 3298 to finish 13th in the American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference. SHU had game scores of 633, 684, 673, 653 and 655 to finish with an average score of 824.50.

Men’s Bowling @ AHIBC Championships.

The Saints bowled five baker games with a total pin-fall of 3459 to finish 15th in the American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference. SHU had game scores of 713, 746, 722, 649 and 629 to finish with an average score of 864.75.

Cheer @ NAIA Northeast Regional Qualifier.

The Saints ended the preliminary round with a score of 78.74 points, before improving to a final score of 79.55 points. The grand total was 25 percent of the preliminary score and 75 percent of the final score. SHU placed eighth with a grand total of 78.35 with a preliminary score of 18.69 points and a final score of 59.66 points to finish seventh overall.

Dance @ NAIA Northeast Regional Qualifier.

The Saints ended the preliminary round with a score of 78.5 points, in the second to last dance performance, SHU finished with a score of 78 points. The grand total was 25 percent of the preliminary score and 75 percent of the final score. After taking 19.62 points in the preliminary round and 58.5 from the finals, the Saints earned a grand total of 78.12 points to finish third overall.

Women’s Basketball @ Indiana Tech. W 72-69.

The Saints were able to hang on and upset Indiana Tech 72-69 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals. Jaaliyah Arrington led the team with 33 points. Azalea Miller added 12 points to go with four assists. April Watson contributed 11 points while leading the team with 12 rebounds. Demi Russel added 10 points off the bench while Ashley Perry also tallied four assists to go with a team leading three steals.

February 27

Women’s Basketball @ Davenport. L 39-77.

The Saints fell 39-77 to Davenport in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament Finals. April Watson led the Saints with 12 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. Contributing seven points was Jaaliyah Arrington. Sharmaine Wills led SHU with three steals and three assists.

March 1

Men’s Volleyball VS. Lawrence Tech. W 3-0.

The Saints won the sets 25-15, 25-9 and 25-19 to sweep Lawrence Tech for a 3-0 victory. Leading the team with 11.5 points and seven kills was Tyler Hubbard-Neil. Keegan Crawford also added seven kills to go with a team leading 25 aces. Emilier DeJesus led SHU with four service aces and 15 digs.

March 3

Men’s Volleyball VS. Lourdes. L 1-3.

The Saints won the first set 25-17, before dropping the next three sets 12-25, 19-25 and 25-27 to fall 1-3 against 6th ranked, Lourdes. Tyler Hubbard-Neil and Mathew Dugan both finished the match with 15 points and 11 kills. Keegan Crawford led SHU with 31 assists. Emilier DeJesus finished with a team high of three service aces and 10 digs for the Saints.

March 4

Softball @ Mount Vernon Nazarene. W 5-2.

The Saints opened their season with a 5-2 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene. Leading SHU in hits was Hailey Fox who went 2-2 with two runs scored. Megan Jones finished the day 1-3 while driving in two runs for the Saints. Kenya Keller and Kris Forest also drove in a run for SHU. Lesley Ducat pitched a complete game to earn the win. Ducat finished the game with six strikeouts.

Men’s Lacrosse @ Missouri Baptist. W 13-7.

The Saints earned their first win of the season as they defeated Missouri Baptist 13-7. Shane Lewandowski led the Saints with five goals and two assists. Chris Acton added three goals to go with a team-high four assists. Tyler Hooper earned the win for SHU as he finished the game with 15 saves.

Softball vs. Indiana Wesleyan. W 5-4.

The Saints were able to get a walk-off victory in the ninth earning over Indiana Wesleyan. Kenya Keller went 2-4 for the Saints as she drove in three runs, including the game ending sacrifice fly to give the Saints the victory. Driving in the other two runs for SHU was Kris Forest as she finished the game 2-3. Lindsay Brandon earned the win as she pitched all nine innings for the complete game to go with nine strikeouts.

Men’s Volleyball @ Graceland. L 2-3.

The Saints fell behind early as they dropped the first two sets 19-25 and 16-25 before coming back to win the next two, 25-22 and 25-21, SHU then dropped the fifth and final match, 6-15 to drop the contest 2-3 to Graceland. Matthew Dugan led the Saints with 16.5 points and 15 kills to go with 18 digs. Keegan Crawford led with 34 assists while Emilier DeJesus led with 24 digs.

Men’s Volleyball @ Robert Morris. L 2-3.

The Saints opened up the match with a win in set one and a loss in set two, both with a score of 25-21. SHU came back to win set three 25-18 before dropping the next two sets 14-25 and 12-15 to lose the match 2-3 to Robert Morris. Matthew Dugan led the team with 23.5 points and 21 kills. Keegan Crawford led with 48 assists while Emilier DeJesus led with 25 digs.

Women’s Track & Field. @ NAIA Championships.

The Saints had six total athletes finish as All-Americans at NAIA Nationals. The 4×400 relay team of Mariah Ridal, Ashley Russo, Brianna Pekel and Alexis Moore placed fourth overall with a time of 3:53.66. Taking third place and earning All-American honors in the high jump was Marissa Johnson with a jump of 5 feet, 1 1/4inches. Asia Gardner took fifth place in the 200m run with a time of 25.15 seconds. Ridal finished sixth in the 600m dash with a time of 1:27.8. Moore finished eighth in the 400m dash with a time of 58.23 seconds. Russo finished eighth in the 1000m run with a time of 3:04.30. As a team, the Saints scored 30 points to place ninth overall.

Men’s Track & Field. @ NAIA Championships.

The Saints had five total athletes finish as All-Americans at NAIA Nationals. Brent Rodden finished as the runner-up in the 800m dash with a time of 1:52.41. The 4×800 relay team of Anthony Vermilye, Kyler VanWormer, Dominic Muessig, and Rodden finished in third place to earn All-American honors as well with a time of 7:41.12. Devonte Johnson became an All-American as he placed eighth in the pole vault with a vault of 15-1 ¾. As a team, the Saints scored 14.5 points to place 17th out of 63 teams.

March 5

Softball @ Fisher. W 21-0.

The Saints cruised past Fisher 21-0, in five innings. Bailee Taylor went 3-4 with two runs scored and five runs battered in for SHU. Kenya Keller added three RBI as Ashley Helmink, Carly Petri, Lindsay Brandon and Jessica Sierak added two RBI. Kayla Kormos pitched a no-hitter as she finished the game with three walks and six strikeouts.

Baseball vs. Saint Xavier. L 1-10.

The Saints were unable to slow down Saint Xavier, as they were defeated 10-1. Brendan Green went 1-3 and scored the lone run for the Saints as he driven in by John Watts. Brendan Baker, Jake Jones and Carson Wlad also finished the game with a hit. Earning the loss for SHU was Kyle Kuhr as he went 3 2/3 innings allowing five hits and six runs to go with three strikeouts.

Softball @ Bellevue (Neb.). W 2-0.

The Saints were able to hang on as they defeated Bellevue (Neb.) 2-0. Hannah Bleikamp went 2-3 with a double and an RBI for the Saints. Amy Nordstrom drove in the other run for SHU. Earning the win for the Saints was Lesley Ducat as she pitched a complete game two-hitter to go with four strikeouts.

Baseball vs. Saint Xavier. L 6-7.

The Saints came up just short over Saint Xavier, as they were defeated 7-6. Alex Robbins went 3-3 with an RBI for the Saints. Brendan Green, John Watts, Emmanuel Gimenez and Jake Jones also drove in a run for SHU. Taylor Acquista took the loss for the Saints as he gave up two earned runs before finishing the game with five strikeouts.

March 6

Baseball @ Spring Arbor. L 2-8.

The Saints dropped a tough one as they fell to Spring Arbor with a final score of 8-2. Matthew Bondy went 2-4 and drove in both of the runs for the Saints after hitting a two-run homerun. Brendan Green finished the game 2-3 and scored off the Bondy homerun. Erich Klingelhofer took the loss as he finished the game with four earned runs to go with two strikeouts in four innings.

Softball vs. Trinity International. W 10-7.

The Saints were able to hang on for a three-run victory as they defeated Trinity International 10-7. Kenya Keller went 4-4 with a double and two RBI for the Saints. Kris Forest and Megan Jones also drove in two runs apiece while Bailee Taylor drove one in. Earning the win out of the bullpen was Lesley Ducat as she pitched three earnings finishing with three strikeouts.

Women’s Lacrosse @ Montreat. W 24-1.

The Saints cruised past Montreat for a 24-1 victory. Aliisa Mason led the team with four goals and two assists. Kayla Parks and Marissa Carino added three goals as Parks also tallied two assists while Cirino tallied five assists. Tabitha Ferguson started in net for the Saints and finished the game with five saves.

Softball vs. Trinity Christian. W 2-0.

The Saints were able to hang on and hold off Trinity Christian for a 2-0 victory. Skylar Crenshaw and Hailey Fox picked up the lone hits for the Saints as Kyndle Wolfinger drove in the lone RBI. Lindsay Brandon earned the win as she pitched a complete game, finishing with nine strikeouts.

Men’s Lacrosse @ Cumberlands (Ky.). W 9-6.

The Saints held off Cumberlands (Ky.) for a 9-6 victory. Shane Lewandowski led the Saints with five shot and goals to go with four goals. Chris Acton tallied two goals to go with a team leading two assists. Picking up the win for SHU with nine saves was Tyler Hooper.

March 7

Softball @ Marian. L 1-5.

The Saints came up short as they fell 5-1 to Marian. Hannah Bleikamp went 2-3 as she scored the lone run for the Saints as she scored on a double by Lexi Agers who finished the game 1-3. Taking the loss for SHU was Lesley Ducat who gave up all five runs. Ducat was replaced by Lindsay Brandon who tossed 1 2/3 innings. Brandon did not allow a hit and finished with two strikeouts.

Softball vs. Carinal Stritch (Wis.). L 3-5.

The Saints lost a tough one as they blew a 3-0 lead to fall 5-3 to Cardinal Stritch (Wis.). Hannah Bleikamp went 1-1 and drove in two runs for SHU as Kenya Keller went 1-3 with a run scored as she also drove in a run. Kayla Kromos started the game and pitched four innings. Kromos gave up three runs and struck out two batters. Lindsay Brandon came in from the bullpen. Brandon pitched three innings and had three strikeouts, but gave up a run to earn the loss.

Baseball @ Webber International. L 1-13.

The Saints failed to pick up a hit, but did manage to score a run before losing 13-1 to Webber International. Emmanuel Gimenez scored the lone run for the Saints as he was driven in by James Boice. Chris Mckiddie started the game but only lasted an inning as he allowed seven runs. Landon Lumbrezer, Ben Finn, Cameron Best and Nic Olson all pitched out of the bullpen for SHU.

March 8

Women’s Lacrosse @ Point University, W 11-9.

The Saints were able to hold off Point University and escape with an 11-9 victory. Kayla Parks led the way for the Saints with five goals, nine shots on goal, and eight groundballs. Aliisa Mason tallied three goals and seven shots on goal. Katherina Tapia picked up the lone assist for SHU. Senior goalie Tabitha Ferguson picked up the win as she finished the game with eight saves.

March 9

Softball vs. Grace. W 10-0.

The Saints were able to shutout Grace and earn a 10-0 victory in five innings. Kenya Keller went 2-3 with a double, a run scored and four runs driven in for the Saints, while Kris Forest went 2-3 with a double, triple and three runs driven in. Lesley Ducat earned the win as she pitched a complete game shutout. Ducat finished the game with eight strikeouts.

Baseball VS. Spring Arbor. L 3-12.

The Saints lost a tough one as they blew a 3-0 lead to fall 12-3 to Spring Arbor. Brendan Green, John Watts, Carson Wlad and Snyder Torres all went 1-3 for the Saints as Matthew Bondy went 1-2. Taylor Acquista only gave up one earned one but took the loss for SHU.

Softball @ Hannibal-LaGrange. W 10-0.

The Saints were able to shutout Hannibal-LaGrange and earn a 10-0 victory in five innings. Kelsey Cherry went 3-3 with two runs scored and a RBI for the Saints. Also scoring two runs was Kayla Boland. Kyndle Wolfinger and Megan Jones drove in two runs apiece. Earning the win for SHU was Lindsay Brandon as she pitched a complete game shutout. Brandon finished the game with six strikeouts.

Baseball @ Thomas (Ga.). L 7-9.

The Saints rallied back, but were unable to make a comeback as they dropped the game 7-9 to Thomas (Ga.). Jake Jones drove in two runs for the Saints as Brendan Green went 3-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Tristan Roth earned the loss for SHU as he gave up eight runs in 3.2 innings pitched before being relieved by Robert Oliver III who pitched 2.1 innings and struck out two batters.

Women’s Lacrosse @ Cumberlands (Ky.). W 15-10.

The Saints were able to hang on to a 15-10 victory over Cumberlands (Ky.). Taylor Swartz led the Saints with four goals while tallying an assist and two groundballs. Kayla Parks and Aliisa Mason added three goals and three groundballs apiece while Mason also tallied an assist. Senior goalie Tabitha Ferguson earned the win as she made 10 saves in net for SHU.

Women’s Basketball @ Morningside (Iowa). L 73-90.

The Saints fell 90-73 to Morningside in round one of the NAIA Tournament. Leading the Saints with 19 points and 17 rebounds was April Watson. Demi Russell added 15 points off the bench. Jaaliyah Arrington and Clara Waidley dropped 14 and 11 points, respectively. Sharmaine Wills led SHU with three steals as Azalea Miller led with four assists.

March 10

Softball @ West Virginia Tech. W 17-5.

The Saints were able to cruise past West Virginia Tech to earn a 17-5 victory in five innings. Kenya Keller went 2-4 with a homerun, two runs scored, and two RBI’s for the Saints. Lexi Agers and Kelsey Cherry drove in three runs while Hannah Bleikamp, Katie Hybl and Hailey Fox all drove in two runs. Earning the win for SHU was Kayla Kornos who pitched a complete game. Kornos gave up five earned runs and four walks before finishing the game with three strikeouts.

Baseball @ Saint Francis (Ill.). L 4-7.

The Saints were unable to comeback as they fell 7-4 in six innings to Saint Francis (Ill.). Carson Wlad went 1-3 with an RBI triple and a run scored for the Saints. Brendan Green, Brendan Baker and Deric Cain also drove in runs for SHU. Kyle Kuhr earned the loss for the Saints as he pitched the complete game. Kuhr allowed 12 hits and seven earn runs while totaling two strikeouts.

Softball vs. Southwest Minn. St. L 6-8.

The Saints lost a tough one as they blew a 5-4 lead to fall 8-6 to Southwest Minnesota St. Amy Nordstrom went 1-3 with a three-run homerun for the Saints. Megan Jones went 4-4 with a run scored, a double and RBI. Kris Forest and Hannah Bleikamp also drove in a run for SHU. Taking the loss for the Saints was Lesley Ducat who gave up seven runs before being replaced by Lindsay Brandon who finished the game.

Baseball vs. Warner (Fla.). L 4-5.

The Saints played a close game, but fell 5-4 to Warner (Fla.). John Watts went 2-3 with two RBI’s while Brendan Green went 1-1 with a run scored and RBI and three walks for the Saints. Reid Olmstead started for SHU. Olmstead pitched five innings and allowed four runs, three earned before being replaced by Ben Finn. Finn pitched one inning and tallied two strikeouts. Finn was replaced by Chris Mckiddie who earned the loss as he gave up an earned run in one inning pitched.

March 11

Dance @ Inaugural NAIA Championships.

The Saints scored a 70.50 in the preliminary round to be in ninth place before scoring a 78.35 in the finals for an overall score of 76.40 points to place eighth overall.

Baseball @ Warner (Fla.). L 4-20.

The Saints were unable to control Warner (Fla.) as they were defeated 20-4. Freddy Jehle went 3-3 with a run scored for the Saints. Carson Wlad went 1-3 with two RBI’s while Nathan Fryz went 2-3 with a RBI for SHU. Erich Klingelhofer started for the Saints and took the loss as he gave up nine runs (two earned) in three innings pitched. Landon Lumbrezer gave up five earned runs in 1.1 innings pitched. Nic Olson gave up six runs (none earned) in 0.1 innings pitched. Robert Oliver III pitched 1.1 scoreless innings.

Softball @ Hannibal-LaGrange. W 3-0.

The Saints were able to defeat Hannibal-LaGrange in seven innings, as they scored three runs in the top of the seventh. Bailee Taylor was brought in as a pinch hitter, Taylor went 1-1 two bring in two runs while Amy Nordstrom went 1-2 to drive in the final run for the Saints. Earning the win for SHU was Lesley Ducat as she pitched the complete game shutout. Ducat allowed five hits and two walks, while tallying seven strikeouts.

Softball vs. Marian. L 3-8.

The Saints were unable to hang on as they blew a 3-1 lead to fall 8-3 to Marian. Kenya Keller and Kris Forest both went 2-4 with a run scored for the Saints. They were driven in by Hannah Bleikamp and Megan Jones. Earning the loss for SHU was Lindsay Brandon. Brandon pitched a complete game while allowing 11 hits, eight runs (five earned), three walks and a strikeout.
