Hump Day Walk About Runs Through April

From April 6-27, the Wellness Committee is hosting a Hump Day Walk About. The idea was brought up to Ben Rosebrock, the director of First Year Experience, and he loved it.

“The idea was brought to up to me by Mary Roberts, and I thought it was good idea. My vision for it is to give it a fun name people will remember and make it a time that people will likely participate,” he said.

The Walk About is every Wednesday from noon until 1 p.m., and anyone who wants to take a stroll around campus or in the neighbor around campus is welcome.

“If you want to walk 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or the whole hour, bring a buddy and enjoy,” Rosebrock said. “People can use this how they need to. It gets us out of our offices, off campus and enjoying some vitamin D.”

You can come anytime within the hour and spend as long as you like.

“It’s a chance to bring people together and a chance to connect,” Rosebrock said.

This event is for everyone from the non-athlete to the in-season athlete to anyone who just wants to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. I think this event will do great things connecting people and getting some exercise and we will see some awesome events coming from the Wellness Committee in the future.

Get out there and get your steps in on Hump Day this month!
