This year’s Halo Fest is coming to a Siena campus near you! Halo Fest will be April 11-16.

But what exactly is Halo Fest all about?

“It’s a week to celebrate the students and their accomplishments for the year. It’s a great week for everyone to come together and have an amazing time,” said Savannah Haig, graduate assistant of Student Engagement.

In order to get students more involved this year, students who attend each event and receive a stamp on their “passport,” which will be handed out at Monday’s event, will be entered to win a pair of Beats headphones.

Jarrod Stober, president of SPARHC and current student, explains what the event truly means to him and what he hopes other students will take away from it.

“It’s a week you’ll look back on in 20-plus years down the road and remember every single detail you did that week,” he said.

On Monday, find out who will be crowned Mr. Husky and Ms. Halo at 9 p.m. in Rueckert Auditorium. Watch your classmates participate in a lip sync battle, as well as show off their talents. A candy bar will be provided by SPARHC.

On Tuesday, come burn off some energy at the Fieldhouse from 7-11 p.m. There will be laser tag, bubble soccer, kickball, 3-on-3 basketball and volleyball games. Subs and chips will be served that night.

On Wednesday, come hear the band, The Strive, similar to Fall Out Boy, perform outside of Ledwidge. This is the first outdoor concert in all of Halo Fest’s years. Come at 5 p.m. for lawn games and fun, with the band opening up at 6:30 p.m.

“I think this year’s Backyard Barbeque will be something new for the students. With a food truck serving free walking tacos, and an outdoor concert with The Strive, this is an event you don’t want to miss!” said Haig.

Thursday is Student Leadership Awards Night in Benincasa at 9 p.m. Dress to impress and bring a friend! This night is dedicated to recognizing all the student leaders here on campus.

Friday is Holi Fest, which is the celebration of an Indian tradition, celebrating happiness and love. From 1-4 p.m. outside of Ledwidge, students can learn more about the celebration and try some traditional Indian food. Shirts will be handed out at 4 p.m., but if students who already have one from past years wear theirs, they will be entered to win two $25 gift cards! The toss of the colors will be around 4:30 p.m., but students are asked to arrive at 4 p.m.

Finally, Saturday will be the Paint Me Neon Run at 10 a.m. at Adrian College. Students should have already signed up in order to participate. Volunteers are still needed!

In the words of Haig, “Why wouldn’t you want to go?”

“It is truly a week that memories are created for you to take on for the rest of your life,” said Stober.

Halo Fest: the best event yet! Don’t be stressed, just come to Halo Fest!
