Siena Heights Hosts Grad Fair/Career Expo

On Nov. 7, Siena Heights University Career Services, in partnership with Adrian College Institute of Career Planning and the McNair Scholars Program, conducted a graduate school fair and an internship/career exposition in the Fieldhouse, and took place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

At the event, the following graduate schools were present: Bowling Green, Michigan, Grand Valley State, Lourdes, Madonna, Marygrove, Oakland, Siena Heights, Spring Arbor, Trine , Detroit Mercy and Toledo.

The following employers were also present: Adrian Area Chamber of Commerce, Adrian Dominican Sisters, Baruch Senior Ministries, Clift Buick GMS, Detroit Police Department, Express Employment Professionals, Goodwill Industries, Hospice of Lenawee and more.

Students were encouraged to attend to explore various options for either graduate school or future employment. Representatives from each school and business promoted their institutions, and set out to provide college students with as much information as they could.

Junior Anna Tartarian attended the fair on behalf of McNair Scholars to get more information about graduate schools in the area, and network with some of the admissions representatives. She looked at several graduate schools including Siena Heights, Bowling Green, Toledo and Grand Valley for master’s programs in Early Childhood Education.

Prior to attending the fair, Tartarian made the process easier by researching several schools that she wanted to for sure talk to at the fair, and she also prepared a couple of questions for each.

She said, “I liked having the opportunity to go, and it was nice that my first graduation fair experience was at Siena rather than having to go somewhere else.”
