Senior accounting major and women’s basketball small forward Sharmaine Wills from Cincinnati, Ohio, was Siena Heights University’s 2019 Martin Luther King Jr Student Service Award winner.

Other than just being a part of the basketball team, Wills is also a part of many other organizations around campus. Wills said she is honored to have received the Student Service Award. She said she will continue to show her leadership by, “treating others how I would like to be treated and helping spread love and positivity among others.”

Her coach, Sue Syljebeck, said, “It was a great honor for Sharmaine and out program. Her leadership has greatly helped lead our team to our success.”

“I would like to thank God for the opportunity, my family and friends for their love and support, and Siena Heights for thinking so highly of me to present me with the award,” Wills said.

“She has been a leader since day one of stepping on this campus” Syljebeck said. “She is so deserving of this award, and it’s exciting that she will leave Siena better then when she came here.”
