COLUMN: Saints Women’s Volleyball

On Saturday there was a Siena Heights women’s volleyball game at 3:30 p.m. The Saints were talking on the Goshen University (Indiana).

The Saints unfortunately suffered a loss. At the beginning of the game, the Saints had the lead at the end of the first and were up 25-12. Goshen really started to pick it up in the second, third and fourth sets.

Siena had 56 total kills in the game.

People were yelling and cheering “Go Saints” the entire game. Saints’ parents clap and cheer players who fall to get back up.

Siena students do not really seem to take a big interest in women’s volleyball like they do for other sports such as football, basketball or track. The game was not sold out, but there were a lot of people there.

However, it was mostly parents of the players or the students that were there were just passing by and didn’t stay for the entire game. The Saints played a great game even with the loss.
