It’s fall again! For some, this merely means that the leaves will change and the weather will grow a few degrees cooler. For others, this marks the time for quirky costumes, haunted houses and hayrides, pumpkin spice everything, and cavities.

While there are several attractions in Michigan, and even Lenawee County, the two most notable are Tecumseh’s 26th annual Appleumpkin Festival, and Wiard’s Orchard.

While I have heard many things about a variety of places, these two attractions seem to be what people are talking about most this fall 2019. They both offer a variety of activities and host different events which make them a sort of one-stop-shop for all of the fall favorites.

The annual Appleumpkin Festival offers a variety of attractions, including carnival rides and games, inflatables and even bungee jumping. Some free attractions include crafts, corn box and mini golf. Some fun rides include those on helicopters and monster trucks. There is even a petting zoo for animal lovers.

There will be an antique street fair, flea market, and an arts and crafts show. One of the most unique activities that the Appleumpkin Festival has to offer is the ability to make your own scarecrow at the Make-It-Take-It Scarecrow Tent. There will be food and live music, and most importantly, free parking!

The Appleumpkin Festival will be held on Oct. 12-13 in downtown Tecumseh.

If someone is looking for a more traditional fall experience, The Wiard’s Cider Mill and Apple Orchard had been around since 1837. Since then, they have added many features to their location, such as u-pick apples and pumpkins, hayrides, and corn mazes.

This location also offers a haunted thrill park by the name of Night Terrors which includes the Haunted barn, The Asylum, Splattertown, The Mineshaft, Hayrides of the Lost, and Alien Caged Clowns. They also offer a variety of fall treats. This specific place is set apart from the rest because they offer traditional fall activities along with Halloween-themed attractions.

So, if you’re looking for an all-inclusive place to go to enjoy fall attractions, The Appleumpkin Festival, or Wiards, are some of the best, most cost-effective places in or surrounding Lenawee County. The hours and pricing for both attractions can be found on their websites:
