SHU Volleyball Off to Good Start
Siena Heights women’s volleyball coach Kim Berrington said, “I think we’re off to a good start. (We) weren’t quite sure what to expect because we graduated seven players last year and half of our lineup is new. We did have some people that got caught up into how we play and how we do things. So, overall I think we are off to a good start.”
After being asked what was the difference from this year to last year’s team, she said, “Personally, like I said half of our roster is new. Last year, we just had a big group of upperclassmen with in game experience. We won three tournaments and we set the record for most wins, but they’re all graduated. Our goal is just to keep improving.”
The Saints are 11-7 and still have a long season ahead of them.
“One goal we have is we would like to win 20 matches,” Berrington said. “But the biggest goal is to be ready for the WHAC Conference Tournament at the end of the season and try to win some games and go to nationals.”
