REVIEW: Downtown Dempsey’s

If you are looking for some good sweet treats, Downtown Dempsey’s may be the place you’re looking for.
This restaurant is located in downtown Adrian, Mich. For food, they serve subs and pizzas.
When I visited, I ordered the “Delectable Dee’s” sub, which came with ham, salami, cheese, vinegar, oil, lettuce, and tomato. I requested they leave the lettuce and tomato off. It was not my favorite sub I’ve ever had, but it wasn’t bad. I like that they warm it up.
The sub was a decent size and was $5.99.
For dessert, I ordered one of each of the cake balls they had on display – funfetti, chocolate, and red velvet. The funfetti one was the best, but I loved them all. The cake inside was nice and soft; however, each individual cake ball was $1.50, and they are not big at all.
I decided to get the food to-go, but they are taking the proper precautions for COVID-19. There was only one employee in the small space where they make the subs, which is good, and she did have a mask on.
There is also a book where they are writing down the names and phone numbers of the customers who dine in, which is a new rule in the state of Michigan.
As for the service, it was normal. The lady took my order, made the food, and then handed it to me. Other than that, there isn’t much to say regarding the service.
Overall, I may not return for the subs, but the dessert will have me visiting again!
