Fall Sports Roundup

Fall is busy again at Siena Heights as sports teams are rounding out the end of their sports seasons.

Women’s soccer, who has been one of the most successful teams at Siena Heights in recent history, is currently holding a 2-3 record. The women played their first two games against Indiana Tech and Lourdes and won both those games 1-0.

The last three games, the women lost to Concordia 3-2, Cornerstone 1-0 and Mt. Vernon Nazarene 1-0. After Halloween, the Saints will not resume their regular season until Feb. 12 against Lindsey Wilson on the road.

The men’s soccer team’s season is already over. The men had four games this past fall and finished with a record of 1-3. The men will resume their season March 13.

The men’s cross country team had three meets this year. The team had a very successful season. They finished first at their home meet, had a top five finish, and had a top 10 finish this season.

The women’s cross country team also had three meets. They also were able to finally host a cross country event in which they also finished first. The other two events they participated in they finished in seventh and 15th place. The men and women will resume their seasons in the spring to finish their championships.

Fall sports seasons have been trimmed this year, but athletes are still very excited for the opportunity to play sports again. With that being said, the sports teams who did not continue their seasons as normal were women’s volleyball and football; their seasons will resume in the spring.

Winter sports are starting back up again, with men’s and women’s basketball starting. The women’s first game was Nov. 2 against Grace Christian and the men’s basketball’s first game will be Nov. 10 against Grace.
