Women’s Golf: 4th at WHAC Jamboree

The women’s golf team tied for 4th on day one of the Wolverine Athletic Hoover Conference Jamboree. This is the first WHAC jamboree of the year. Lauren Cojei led her team ending the day with in 12th place (81), Andrea Richards was 16th (82), and Alyssa Fausneaucht tied for 21st (83).

 

September 11

Women’s Golf (Day #2): 4th at WHAC Jamboree

The Lady saints keep their 4th place spot from the previous day. Andrea Richards leads the way tying for 9th place individually. Her two-day total score was 159. Lauren Cojei tied for 12th (161) and Alyssa Fausneaucht tied for 14th with 162.

 

Saturday September 12

 

Men’s Soccer: SHU- 3, Calumet St. Joseph- 1

SHU Men’s Soccer improves to a 3 game winning streak with this non-conference win.  Brent Roden Scores two goals and Alexandre Santos adds another. Goalkeeper Leo Hisamatsu made nine saves in the goal before Jonathon Brenner relieved him in the second half.

 

Women’s Soccer: SHU- 6, Calumet St. Joseph- 0

The Saints live up to their number 18 ranking on Saturday when they easily defeated Calumet St. Joseph. Taylor Mulder led her team with three goals. Other scorers included Rebecca Penny, Madison Tedora, and Danielle Eastman. Taylor Hill also had two saves in the goal.

 

Football: SHU- 42, Missouri Baptist- 35

The football team claimed another victory after a rather close game in the 2nd half.  Reggie Blackmon scored two touchdowns, as well as Damon Wright Jr. The two had a combined total of 220 receiving yards. Tyaire had 2 ½ sacks on defense.

 

Women’s Cross Country: 9th place at Calvin

The women’s cross country team brings home a 9th place finish out of the total 30 teams that completed in the Calvin Knight Invitational. Elaine Johnson was first place for her team and snagged 25th place overall with a time of 18:56. Following her was Ashley Russo 32nd (19:04), Lucia Alfaro 42nd (19:12), and Kristin Stobinski, 19:53.  The team average time was 19:28.

 

Men’s Cross Country: 12th Place at Calvin

The men brought home a 12th place finish on Saturday at the Calvin Knight Invitational. Kyler VanWormer paved the way for the Saints with a 47th place finish and a time of 26:25. Timothy Young was 51st place with 26:32. Dominic Muessig was 64th with 26:4.

 

 

September 15

Mens Golf: 6th out of 9 at Defiance Spiess Memorial

Gage Snyder led the Siena Heights men’s golf team ‘B’ squad to a sixth place finish at Defiance. Snyder was 15th shooting a 75. Nick Burnam was 21st (76) and Nick Sanscrainte was 32nd (79). Their team score was 313.

 

Women’s Soccer: SHU- 2, Rochester- 0

The Saints continue to improve their record with another win against Rochester. Taylor Mulder scored both goals for SHU in the second half. Meghan Bogg kept the Warriors from scoring and made two saves in the goal.

 

Men’s Soccer: SHU- 7, Grace Bible- 0

The Saints improved their record to (4-1) in the non conference game against Grace Bible College. Rahbar Khan scored two goals. Alexandre Santos, Brent Rodden, Nathaniel Krauss, Elmedin Celovic, and Noah Breinzer also contributed goals. Leo Hisamatsu kept the ball out of the set making two saves in the goal.

 

September 16

Women’s Volleyball: SHU- 0, Cornerstone- 3

The lady Saints endured an unfortunate loss to Cornerstone University. This game qualified as a Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference game. Ashleigh Shay and Leze Vukaj each had eight kills and three blocks apiece. The scores of each set were 14-25, 8-25, and 23-25.
