September 17

Women’s Golf at Alma Scottie Invitational- 3rd out of 4 teams
The women’s ‘B’ squad placed third at the invitational hosted by Alma at Pine River. Ashley Carney was the leading scorer the Saints and tied for 4th place with a score of 88. Ashley Bearden and Amber Dykstra both had a score of 90s, tying for 7th place. The team’s score was 363.

September 18

Women’s Cross Country at Notre Dame National Catholic Invitational- 7th out of 25 teams
The women’s cross country team brought home a 7th place finish the National Catholic Invite. Elaine Johnson led the way, finishing with a time of 19:06, earning herself a 19th place finish for the small school division and 68th overall (this includes college and NCAA division I). Following her was sophomore Ashley Russo (31st), Lucia Alfaro (50th), Kristin Stobinski (62nd), and Lauren McMahon (73rd). The Saints final score was 235 points.

Men’s Golf vs. WHAC Jamboree #4- 1st out of 4 teams
The men’s golf team takes home their second Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference jamboree win of the season with a score of 288. Ian Martin placed second with a 68 earning him two-under-par. Joe Forest was close behind in third place with a 69. Tim Combs Tied for 17th place with a 75, and Robert Kowalenko and Parker Ross both earned 76s to tie for 26th place. The saints are now first in the WHAC standings.

September 19

Women’s Soccer vs. Point Park- 2-0, W
The number 18 ranked team from Siena improved their winning streak to 6-0 at home on Saturday against the Point Park Pioneers fron Pennsylvania. The two goals scored were from Taylor Mulder in the first half and Madison Phillips in the second half. Taylor Hill made 4 saves in the goal.

Football vs. Concordia- 28-27, L
The Saints endured a tough loss to Concordia in the Mid-States Football Association Mideast League game on Saturday. The night game stated out with an impressive lead of 20 in the first half. The Cardinals made a comeback in the second half, scoring 28 points. Siena running back D’aries Davis scored two touchdowns. Quarterback Nick Gilliam completed 26 out of 37 throws, totaling 296 yards. Reggie Blackmon also added a touchdown along with eight receptions. Running back Dont’e Fox was SHU’s leading rusher for the game with 23 carries and 83 yards. In the 4th quarter, Concordia held a one point lead. SHU attempted a field goal, which was then blocked and intercepted, resulting in a victory for Concordia.

Men’s Soccer vs. Saint Francis- 2-1, W
Junior Alexandre Santos scored a goal in the second half, giving the team from Siena Heights a 2-1 advantage over Saint Francis, resulting in a win. Santos was assisted by Matt Wilkie. Matt Lentine scored the first goal for the Saints very early on in the game. Ten minutes later their opponents responded, and the score was tied at one. The Saints goalkeeper, Leo Hisamatsu, made 3 saves.

September 22

Women’s Soccer vs. Saint Francis- 1-0, W
An overtime goal by Samantha Bartelotti advanced the 17th ranked team to a 1-0 victory over Saint Francis at home. Danielle Eastman assisted Bartelloti to improve their winning streak to 7-0. Meghan Bogg had three saves in the goal for Siena. This marks the Saints’ 4th consecutive shutout, meaning that not been scored on for over 452 minutes.

Women’s Volleyball vs. Madonna- 3-0, L
The women’s volleyball team suffered a 3-0 sweep at the “Teal Attack” conference match against Madonna. Leze Vukaj ended with eight kills and three blocks and Ashleigh Shay had seven kills for the Saints. The set scores were 25-21, 25-12, and 25-21. Carly Tillotson had 24 assists, two aces, and seven digs. Nicole Morgan had 15 digs and one ace. There were a total of 11 ties during the match. The 15th ranked team from Madonna took an early lead with a 2-0 match score. The Saints put up a fight in the third set. They were within two points of MU with a score of 22-20. Madonna scored 3 of 4 points to end the match.
