Break-Out Season for RB Davis

Break-Out Season for RB Davis

D’aries Davis was the starting running back this year for the Siena Heights University football team.

Davis is a junior at Siena Heights, where he recently finished his second season carrying a heavy workload from the backfield. He finished the season with over 1,000 yards. This was not only a school record, but also the first 1000-yard rushing season in Saints history.

This achievement should not be taken lightly. It is very difficult especially at the college level with a 10-game schedule to rush for 1,000 yards. To be consistent every game is not an easy task, and Davis did just that.

Davis attributed his success to his team who put him into a position to succeed. Also, he said he wanted to thank the people he played for: his mother, who spent several weeks in the hospital, and his good friend, the late Don’t’e Fox. He wanted to not only, “work hard and be productive for my teammates but for everyone that has helped me along the way.”

He had the best season from a running back that Siena Heights has ever had. He said, “even though I was not the only reason for this achievement I am very proud of this accomplishment.”

He said he is proud of what he achieved but is looking forward to next season to see what the team can achieve as a whole.

“We have already gotten back to work and are looking forward to it all paying off next year,” said Davis.
