Saints Win Shootout Over UNOH

Siena Heights 73, UNOH 37: The Siena Heights women’s basketball competed against the Northwestern Ohio Racers (UNOH) on Nov. 12 at the Fieldhouse. The Saints advanced to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC).

Siena jumped to a 10-0 start early as the Racers could not find the basket in the first quarter, but the quarter ended with a score of 14-2. In the second quarter the Saints led 36-19. During the rest of the game, Siena continued to dominate play and scored 18 points in the third quarter and 19 in the fourth.

For Siena, Kelsey Wyman led the Saints in scoring with a total of 14 points, going 6 of 10 from the field and had two three-points shots. She also had three rebounds and a block. Patriellia Whittington finished the game with a total of eight rebounds and four assists. Also, she had a steal and four points. The Saints went 27-62 from the field having a field goal percentage of 43.5 percent. they also had 50 rebounds and 16 assists with 19 turnovers.

For the Racers, Tori Lennartz led the team with a total of 11 points, and she also had three defensive rebounds and one assist. Tya Bell had a total of nine points, and led her team with a total of six defensive rebounds. The Racers went 11-52 from the field having a field goal percentage of 21.2 percent. They also had 26 rebounds, six assists, and 21 turnovers in the loss against the Saints.
