First things first, what in the world brought you here to the SHU?

A lot of things. The Social Work program is accredited, so I can get my Master’s at an outstanding program. I liked the softball team and the great chemistry it had. I knew I had an opportunity to be a starter and play a lot.

Why choose to major in Social Work as opposed to anything else?

I really want to do something that involved working directly with people. I wanted to go into psychology, but I found I wanted to rather help people work toward a better future.

What expectations do you have for this upcoming season?

I would like to be at the top of our conference. We were 4th last year, and I’d like to do better than that. Personally, I’d like to be All-Conference again and an academic team.

So, you’re dating Lucas “Loopis” Bartz, and some of us know him but others may not. Where did you two meet, and how in the world are you still with him?

We met in high school. I saw him playing basketball and saw him playing against my school. I wanted him to be my boyfriend. We’ve been together three and a half years, and we bring out the best in one another. We motivate one another as well.

Name three things in no particular order that you are afraid of and why.

Snakes because they terrify me. Losing one of my parents. Sharks. I’d hate to get eaten by one.

If you weren’t here for softball but had to play another sport, what would it be?

Probably soccer. I played it in high school, and I really miss it.

What’s your dream job?

A wedding planner because weddings make me happy. My mom and I always talked about quitting our jobs and opening our own wedding planning business.

If you’re stranded on an island with “Loopis” and could only take three things apiece, what would you bring and what do you think he’d bring?

I would bring some blankets so we could sleep on. Need food. As much as we could carry. Swimsuits most likely so I could live in. Loopis would bring one of his roommates. Probably weapons maybe, like some knives. Lastly, a tent/ tarp for shelter.

Would you rather be a movie star actress or a famous country singer?

Probably a movie star because people critique singing way more than acting. I’d probably do action, or romance movies. Sweet love stories.

Plans after graduation?

I’ve applied to grad school at Western and Grand Valley. I’d rather go to Western and then get a job in the Kalamazoo area.
