Finals week can seem like the most stressful time of the year, but there are various amount of ways that can help students overcome these pressures.

Ultimately the stress of finals week on top of extracurricular activities or having a job can make students feel like they are drowning. That is why it is important to for students destress as much as possible so that they do not get this overwhelming feeling.

How Can Students Relieve Stress on Campus?

There are a variety of activities offered on campus that were made specifically for the stress that exam week can have. On Thursday, Dec. 9, there is de-stress night in the University Center living room from 6-8 p.m. You can even get a massage if you register in time!

Another event on campus that is coming up during finals week is Late Night Breakfast. Late Night Breakfast will bE in the University Center from 9-11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13. All students are welcome with a school ID, but students are also encouraged to register for an arrival time. Registering beforehand will allow the dining hall to be less crowded.

The library is open for studying every weekday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 11 p.m.

How Can Student Relieve Stress Off Campus?

There are a variety of ways that students can relieve stress off campus, but the most important thing is to do not overdo it. It is important to prioritize studying, but also make sure you are eating well and taking those mental breaks when need be.

The weather has not been very promising lately, but going outside and getting active can greatly benefit an individual when they are feeling overwhelmed. Even if it is just a walk, getting fresh air and being active can do wonders when it comes to stress. There are many trails in the Adrian area for individuals to walk on as well, such as Trestle Park.

Meeting with students who are in the same classes can greatly benefit when it comes to studying and preparing for exams. They can also help you remember what due dates you have coming up. This way of studying allows you to socialize but also stay on task as you all are working on the same assignment.

What is the best advice for students who are stressed about finals?

The best advice for students to relieve the stress of finals week is to create a plan ahead of time. The exam schedule will not be at the same time as your regular classes, therefore creating a plan can be crucial. This also allows students to prioritize the materials that they need to be studying.

Before exams, it is also important to remember to eat enough, as well as trying your best to make it healthy.

Overall exams can be extremely stressful, but we hope that these tips will make the overwhelming feeling a little more bearable.
