SHU’s Halloween Walk Another Hit with Local Families

Kids of all ages pranced up and down the halls of Siena Heights University’s Ledwidge Hall as they joined in on this year’s annual Halloween Walk. The halls of Ledwidge were covered with fake spider webs, spooky music and other decorations in order to pull off the Halloween theme. Each hallway was unique, and certain halls had specific themes such as zombies or Harry Potter.

Each resident assistant was given a crate full of little brown bags that contained candy for their residents to pass out to the trick-or-treaters. By the end of the night, only a few brown bags remained. This year, SHU spent $1,000 on candy for this event.

From Spiderman to Queen Elsa, the trick-or-treaters wore a vast variety of costumes. Little girls dressed up as cheerleaders, and butterflies. Whereas the boys wore minion costumes from the movie “Despicable Me,” as well the Incredible Hulk and Captain America costumes. Siena Heights students led the groups through the decorated halls, dodging spider webs and chains every few feet.

Besides candy, kids also had other fun activities to do afterwards. A photo booth was provided to take silly pictures in their costumes. Toys such as bouncy balls and Hula Hoops were set up for the rowdy kids to entertain themselves. Multiple games were set up, and there was also a station for kids to decorate pumpkins.
