A Look at Men’s Basketball Coach Joe Pechota

Siena Heights head men’s basketball coach Joe Pechota is in his eighth year at Siena. Pechota has a record of 87 wins and 123 losses..

The 2018-19 season was the program’s best season, as the Saints finished that season 17-13 and were fourth in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.

Pechota came to Siena Heights after several seasons coaching at the NAIA Division II level as the head coach for Brescia University located in Owensboro, Ky. While at Brescia,his team appeared in two back-to-back conference finals and he had the pleasure of coaching six NAIA All-Americans.

Before Pechota coached at Brescia for six years, he was at Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne, where he graduated from assistant to associate head coach to interim head coach.

Pechota also coached at Alma for three seasons and Ferris State for one year. When it comes to his education, Pechota graduated from Concordia University in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education, then continuing his education, receiving a Master’s in Sport Administration from Central Michigan in 2001.

Pechota currently lives in the Lenawee area with his wife, Angelina, and their two daughters, Claire and Emma.
