FOOD REVIEW: El Chaps (The Grasshopper)

If you are looking for a restaurant with excellent Mexican food and excellent service, El Chaps in Adrian, Mich. may be the place for you. El Chaps (short for El Chapulin, and also known as “The Grasshopper”) is located downtown Adrian.
To begin, I want to discuss the service. We were greeted and seated in their outside dining area as soon as we arrived. The owners came out and spoke to us; they were all very sweet.
We ordered the chips and cheese as an appetizer. If anyone has ever talked to you about this restaurant, I am sure they mentioned something about the chips and cheese. The cheese is outstanding. We did not have to wait long for our food.
For my meal, I ordered a chicken quesadilla with sour cream and a chicken enchilada with their wonderful cheese poured on top. My meal was great. The person I went out to eat with ordered a cup of the menudo soup, a beef enchilada with the cheese on top, and a chalupa. He loved his food as well.
Our meals were very tasteful and came out fast. The total for everything ended up being just under twenty dollars! The prices are wonderful, especially for a broke college student like myself.
The final aspect I will discuss is the COVID-19 safety precautions. The employees were wearing masks, and the tables were spaced out to maintain social distancing. They are handing out paper menus to avoid customers continuously touching the same menu. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant.
